Women Worldwide with Deirdre Breakenridge

Lisa Bien is a highly sought-after motivational speaker and media personality who is changing lives with her story and her work. She’s authored three books and hosts her very own Temple TV program called Your Best Life with Lisa. She joins me today to talk all about being in the media and what you can do to make it your reality if that’s your desire.

Lisa is able to get down to the nitty-gritty of other people’s stories because she has quite the story of her own. She went from a divorced, single mom who lost her job, to author, motivational speaker, and TV personality because she had the drive to change her life.

She knows that you can do the same because she did it too. She’s dedicated to helping others Bounce Back from life’s challenges while motivating them to keep working toward their dreams.

Listen as she shares her story, how she got into the media, and why she’s passionate about helping others to live their dream. As she says, this isn’t a rehearsal. We only get one life. Live it to the fullest. Listen in to learn more.

Your emotional intelligence impacts all aspects of your business. No matter if you’re a manager, in the C-Suite, or running your own business, your decisions impact more than just you. So how do you make better decisions?

The best thing to do is to work on your emotional intelligence. I recently finished my latest book, Answers for Ethical Marketers, and in it I provide a short list of questions for you to answer. These questions will help you evaluate your emotional intelligence level and where you may need to do some work.

Listen in with a notebook nearby and answer these few quiz questions for yourself. How did you fare? What do you need to work on? Do you believe that your emotional intelligence is what connects ethical conduct and decision-making?

Show Notes:

  • [01:50] Emotional intelligence is your ability to be self-aware and be self-disciplined.
  • [02:42] Do you respond rather than react to stimuli? Take this quick quiz.

Practicing mindfulness is one way to combat the stressors of our ever-changing world. Michelle Enriquez is a corporate mindfulness strategist who works with leaders and change-makers to be more mindful and intentional. Have you done your mindfulness practice today?

Michelle has spent years learning more about mindfulness practices and how to apply them in a corporate setting. She creates personalized mindfulness plans and provides accountability to many of New York’s top professionals, politicians, and athletes.

She’s joining me today to talk about why we need to practice mindfulness each day. She’s giving us actionable tips and advice to put into our daily practice as well. Not into meditation? That’s fine. Michelle knows and shares several ways that you can begin to incorporate daily mindfulness practices into your own life.

The first step? Being more in tune with your breath and how it impacts your mood, thoughts, and actions.

Listen as she shares how you can get started even if you’re a complete beginner. You can live without food and water for a time, but you cannot live without breath. Her tips and advice are truly fantastic for all levels of practice. No matter if you’ve been practicing mindfulness for minutes or decades, you’ll learn something new during this conversation.
